Since you are reading this right now, you are literate and most likely educated. You may have gone to college, even graduate school. You are probably wealthy, at least compared to most people around the world. You probably have the ability to eat three times per day. If you have a roof over your head, you are better off than many people in the world. If you earn $25,000 per year, you are in the richest 10% of the world. Even if you earn $2,200 per year, you are in the richest 15% of the world. God has blessed many of us with abundance. But let us not forget that God is the owner of all that we have. He has made us stewards of His possessions and has tasked us with exercising responsibility over these possessions. We are called to use these resources to spread God's grace to others. This is certainly true of our responsibility to care for the global poor. If every Christian would tithe, we would have sufficient resources to end world poverty. But even more important is the responsibility to share the message of Jesus with the unreached peoples of the world.
The living God is a missionary God!
Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations and OM is dedicated to this calling. Over the last 50 years, OM has spread the Good News throughout the globe and has passed out 1 billion pieces of Christian literature and Bibles. Our 6100 missionaries in 110 countries engage local communities through our different justice, relief and development projects. Over the years, countless people have come to saving faith in Jesus Christ.
But there are millions more to be won.
God has made you a steward over His resources so that you can do His work. One important act of stewardship is making a gift to OM. This gift can be given now, or can become a part of your estate plan. Either way, your actions can have an impact upon others that outlasts your lifespan on this earth. I encourage you to leave a legacy, a spiritual inheritance, that will affect the lives of others for all eternity. God has graciously called us into His family. God has made us stewards over His creation. God has given us a spiritually blessed life to help those around the world who desperately need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. Let us commit ourselves to this task, always abounding in the work of the Lord.
In His Grip,
